Cheryl Hines

Cheryl Ruth Hines is a Florida native, born the 21st of September, 1965 in Miami Beach to Rosemary (Graham) who was the daughter of James Hines and Rosemary (Graham). The family lived in Tallahassee. She went to West Virginia University as well as Florida State University before graduating from the University of Central Florida. It wasn't until she moved from Los Angeles to the Groundlings Theater and studied comedy there that she truly felt like she learned about humor. Lisa Kudrow, her first instructor at the Groundlings Theater was a great teacher. She was taught how to perform improv and write comedy sketches. The experience she gained prepared her for the role of Larry David's wife in HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000). She is comfortable because the dialog in this comedy is entirely improvised.
